Contest Rules

  1. Potential contestants must send a recording of themselves (CD only) performing their song to the festival. Please include a lyric sheet with your submission.
  2. Submissions will be juried and the top 20 selections according to the selection committee will be chosen for the contest.
  3. Contestants may perform solo or have 2 accompanists. (hand drums only)
  4. Songs will be limited to 4 minutes or less.
  5. There is no limit of musical style or genre.
  6. All contestants must have a valid admission ticket to the festival.
  7. The winner will be chosen by a panel of judges. All judges decisions are final.
  8. The winner will receive $500.00 cash. Second place will receive $100.00 cash and a pair of passes to next years festival. Third place will receive a pair of passes to next years festival.
  9. Each contestant may submit one song only on CD.
  10. All songs must be original
  11. The person who wrote the song must perform the song as a solo or as an accompanist
  12. Paid performers of the Ossipee Valley Bluegrass Assc. may not compete.
  13. Deadline has been extended to July 1, 2010.
